Associate Director, External Relations and Communications, Canadian Centre for Ethics in Sport

Danielle Côté is a seasoned communications practitioner who has spent most of her career working in the health care field both as a consultant and staff communication advisor for a several national associations.

For the last 12 years she managed her own consulting business, BKT Health Promotion and Communication Inc. where she delivered strategic communications advice to a variety of municipal, regional and national clients. Most of her work focused on helping clients strengthen their brand and maximize their public relations opportunities. She lead a number of English and French health promotion workshops throughout the province on health communications planning, evaluation, and policy development in order to help build capacity among allied health professionals.

Her recent accomplishments include leading a network of regional health partners in the design, implementation and evaluation of a health communication campaign to help residents of the Champlain Region reduce their sodium intake.

She was recently part of the communications leadership team involved in promoting Vascular 2013, the gathering of four key conferences being held in the fall of 2013 in Montreal to tackle vascular health in Canada.

Danielle is a past president of the Ottawa/Gatineau Chapter of the Canadian Public Relations Society and currently serves as a member of the national Governance Committee.

She has just transitioned from the world of cardiovascular health promotion to the world of ethical sport as Associate Director, External Relations and Communications with the Canadian Centre for Ethics in Sport in Ottawa.
